There are times that a club can get damaged during a round of golf.  Previously players were not permitted to repair that damaged club. Now, thanks to rule 4.1a(2) in the 2023 rules of golf a player can repair or replace a golf club that was damaged during a round.

However if the damage was due to abuse then you are not permitted to replace of repair it.
